John Marty – Morning Show Host / Engaged / Aries
I’m just a guy who occasionally says entertaining things on the radio and I laugh way too much at myself… cause if I laugh.. then someone thought it was funny.
I grew up in Birmingham but my Dad’s from Mobile and went to Murphy High (back in the day) so I spent every summer of my childhood here and in Gulf Shores! My Dad is an Alabama graduate so I grew up a Bama fan… but I graduated from Auburn, so I’m a die hard Tiger fan now! War Eagle!
I’ve lived in New Orleans off an on since 1996 and it’s where I met my fiancée Stacey (who’s a born and bred NOLA girl).
I’m the oldest of three as I have a younger sister and brother. I’d like to say we are close but we live way far apart. My brother is in Austin & my sister is in Charleston, so I’m in the middle (perfect meeting place).
I love almost anything sports related especially soccer… I can sit and watch soccer anywhere anytime any age group. I’m a huge beach bum and am never happier than in a boat on the water especially sailing or water skiing!
When I watch TV Shows there should be no interruptions as I am very focused!
Shows that make me say: “What do mean you haven’t seen it???”: Game Of Thrones, Walking Dead, Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, That 70’s show, Big Bang Theory & How I Met Your Mother!
I can never say I have a “favorite movie” but the ones that top of my list are: Star Wars (the first three), Lord of the Rings (the only 3), Raiders of the Lost Ark, Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction & Gladiator. Oh, and I can quote the movie Top Gun better than you AND any of your friends!
I also am a closet fan of cheesy HAIR bands: Poison, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue. Sign me up for all of that!
But I love Mobile mostly because this town is full of the some of the warmest and most genuine people in the South! And to be on the greatest radio station on the entire Gulf Coast 975 WABD… that’s just icing on the cake!!!
