UPDATE! I ran in Bras Across the Causeway! I even took my dog JAX!
This time of year I always run a 5k.
In 2015 during a self-check I found several “bead-like” lumps in my breast. I was 31 years old. I had never felt anything like it before & my doctor wanted me to get a mammogram.
I was scared!!!
Turns out it was a large mass of fibrous tissue (benign) which is often caused by those that drink a lot of coffee & soft drinks (guilty). Since then I have gotten a mammogram every year. Now, I do it mainly for peace of mind however my breast health is now a top priority.
So that’s why every year I run a 5k.
I want to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I feel like one of the lucky ones. I have not had to suffer the pain & heartache of breast cancer nor had to see a loved one go through it … however I know plenty of people that have.
I’m constantly amazed by the amount of people that don’t get regular mammograms.
It’s the last thing on anyone’s mind. However that’s where the problem lies …
It’s the last thing on anyone’s mind .. until it’s too late.
YOUR Breast Health needs to be YOUR top priority!
Bring the whole family & join me & my friends on Saturday October 17th at 7:30am at Meaher State Park (across from 5 Rivers) along the Causeway .. for Bras Across The Causeway!
