Mobile Museum of Art will be closed to the public Saturday, Aug. 28 as staff prepare to protect the artwork from potential damage from Hurricane Ida. The museum is scheduled to reopen, Aug. 31.

University of Mobile all on-campus classes and activities will be closed Monday, Aug. 30. Online classes will continue as planned, however professors are asked to work with students who experience power outages during and after the storm. Campus is expected to reopen Tuesday, Aug. 31 unless notified otherwise. Updates of any changes can be viewed here.

University of South Alabama will close all on-campus classes and activities Monday, Aug. 30. Students should contact professors for remote options and/or online activities/assignments. Dining operations will be modified for Sunday and Monday and can be found on the Dinging Service website. Employees should plan to report to work on Monday unless otherwise announced. Garbage collection routes in Baldwin County will be pushed back one day from the scheduled pickup days. Bulk and yard debris will also be pushed back one day from the scheduled pick-up day.

Orange Beach Aquatics Center, Golf Center and Recreation Center will be closed on Sunday, Aug. 29.

All public bay access areas in the City of Daphne closed at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, until further notice.

The City of Fairhope will close all offices and buildings on Monday, Aug. 30. Phone lines will remain open for citizens who need help. Essential personnel will remain on standby. Garbage and recycling will not run, but will resume on their next scheduled pickup day.

The City of Daphne will close administrative offices and municipal operations on Monday, Aug. 30. All emergency personnel will remain staffed. This decision comes in response to threats of tropical storm wind gusts, heavy rain and possible flooding. All waste removal services scheduled for Monday are rescheduled for Sept. 1

GEORGE COUNTY, MISS.

The George County School District has is closing schools on Monday, Aug. 30, for all students and staff. At this time, students and staff should report to school as regularly scheduled on Tuesday, Aug. 31.

Biloxi Shuckers and the Rocket City Trash Pandas Sunday, Aug. 29 game has been canceled with the approach of Hurricane Ida. Tickets can be exchanged for any remaining Shucker’s regular seasonal game. The box office will be closed Sunday and Monday.
