Iam Tongi won American Idol season 21 over Megan Danielle and Colin Stough on Sunday night (May 21).

Tongi’s cover of “Monsters” went viral during audition rounds as a tribute to his late father, Rodney.

A few days before the finale, Tongi released his original song “I’ll Be Seeing You,” which was also dedicated to his father.

Tongi is the first artist from Hawaii to win American Idol.
