Judge Tentatively Rules in Favor of Lady Gaga Reward Suit Dismissal Motion

Lady Gaga got great news on Monday (October 2). A Los Angeles judge ruled in favor of Lady Gaga, as she will not need to pay the $500,000 reward to Jennifer McBride who was tied to her dogs being kidnapped.

Judge Holly J. Fujie paused the breach of contract suit in July. McBride sued Gaga in February for not paying her the reward money for the dogs’ safe return.

Fujie gave McBride 20 days to amend and refile the lawsuit, which claimed Gaga made a fraudulent offer to deceive the public and convince them to deliver her bulldogs to the defendants.

According to PEOPLE, Fujie stated in July that McBride’s lawsuit against Gaga was legally insufficient because of McBride’s involvement in the theft.

Since McBride was indicted and pleaded no contest to charges of receiving stolen property in 2022, she is not entitled to benefit from their wrongdoing by enforcing the contract.
