Federal Judge Blocks Montana TikTok Ban

A federal judge has blocked Montana’s statewide ban on TikTok, one month before it was set to take effect.

A U.S. District Judge ruled that the ban “oversteps state power” and violates the Constitutional rights of “users and businesses”.

The ban was passed back in May, the first of its kind in the U.S. It would ban downloading the TikTok app and fine app stores or TikTok’s parent company ByteDance up to $10,000 a day for allowing access.

Do you think the TikTok ban is unconstitutional? Should we be more concerned about the impact apps like TikTok have on our lives?
