Ed Sheeran has shared a closer look at the creative process behind Animal, his collaboration with global girl group KATSEYE. In a behind-the-scenes studio video, the singer-songwriter explained that the idea began after he heard the group’s track Gnarly during a trip to Mexico and became interested in working with them.
The studio footage shows Sheeran helping shape the song while KATSEYE develops its vocals and performance style. Animal explores the contrast between a carefully controlled public image and the more spontaneous side that can emerge in private or on the dance floor.
KATSEYE released the track on July 24 alongside an official music video featuring actress Demi Moore. The collaboration brings together Sheeran’s pop songwriting experience and the group’s polished, high-energy sound.
For KATSEYE, Animal adds another major collaboration to the group’s growing catalog. It also offers listeners a clearer view of how the song moved from an early studio concept to a finished release built around the members’ personalities and vocal strengths.
