At least 100 supporters of convicted killer Steven Avery are expected to protest Friday in Manitowoc, Wis. It’s scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. near the Manitowoc County Courthouse and will be peaceful. Avery and his nephew, Brendan Dassey, were convicted in 2007 of killing photographer Teresa Halbach. Since the Dec. 18 release of the Netflix series Making a Murderer, they’ve gained supporters worldwide. The series questions the tactics used by the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department.
